Rhianwen, originally from Wales, began playing the harp at the age of eight. She was taught by Elinor Bennett OBE before moving on to the Royal College of Music in London, to study a BMus degree under a scholarship supported by the Douglas and Hilda Simmonds Award under Professor Ieuan Jones.
Rhianwen has enjoyed playing solo performances in front of the Queen, Prince Philip, the Prince of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Elton John. She has also accompanied celebrities such as Adele and Mumford & Sons, and has played at such venues as the House of Lords, Kensington Palace and The Ritz, London.
Rhianwen has played with internationally successful Male Voice Choir 'Cor Godre'r Aran' with leader Eirian Owen and has accompanied Bryn Terfel for a TV documentary. Rhianwen was honoured to be asked to play in a duo with Catrin Finch on several occassions.
Her orchestral performances include harpist with the English National Opera during the Madam Butterfly and Peter Grimes project, and principle of the NYOW and YMSO.
