Emma is a second generation harpist and began playing alongside her harpist mother Sally Whitaker from the age of seven. She studied formally at the Hindhead School of Music with the renowned Ann Hughes-Chamberlain, former pupil of the legendary Lily Laskine. In 2005 she was awarded a music scholarship to Lancing College and later played the harp with orchestras and ensembles at the University of London.
Emma began performing as a solo events harpist at the age of 15 and has over ten years' experience of playing at weddings, drinks receptions, dinners and parties. Venues have included the Spinnaker Tower, Amberley Castle, Herstmonceaux Castle, Stansted Park, Goodwood Park Hotel, the Brighton Metropole Hotel, HMS Warrior and HMS Sultan.
Emma's repertoire is wide ranging and constantly evolving, from classical, celtic and folk traditions, to jazz, latin american, pop, film and show tunes.
